Brian Lee Ohlensehlen was born a special Child of God on February 4, 1981 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was carried to his Heavenly home on March 7, 2011. His parents are Bob and Darlena Ohlensehlen of Twin Falls. Brian had a brother Jim and a sister Cindy. During his life Brian especially touched the hearts of his nieces and nephew, who loved Brian dearly. In return Brian taught them and many of us about care and compassion for those who have not been as well blessed as most of us are. Many people have touched Brian during his life, providing aid and comfort that he was not able to provide for himself. Brian enjoyed music, one of his greatest pleasures was to sit and enjoy listening to music. He also enjoyed being out and about in the community. He took in the county fair every fall. Brian enjoyed sitting in the rocker and would rock for hours at a time. When Brian was two he began attending school in Gooding at the Idaho State School for the Deaf and Blind. He attended there until he was 12. Then he attended Harrison Elementary and Robert Stuart Jr. High. He has since attended the programs at the Center for Independent Living. Brian was baptized and a life long member of the Lutheran Church. Like most children, Brian moved out of his home when he was nearly 20 and spent his adult life in the Clearwater, Hillcrest, Campus View and Bitterroot homes. There Brian was blessed to have shared his home with many of God's other special children and to have been cared for by dozens of people. In their eyes Brian was the same as the rest of us. They loved him and cared for him as if he was one of their own family. With all of the medical issues that Brian faced during his life there were many physicians who were instrumental in giving Brian extra years to be with his family. There are too many to list everyone but in the beginning it was Dr. Paul V. Miles, Dr. Ronald Miller and Dr. Jack Trotter; in the later years, Dr. Richard Hammond, Dr. Steve Kohtz and his nurse Jenn Klinsky. Brian's family would especially like to thank Dr. Ron Miciak and the nursing staff at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center for the excellent care Brian received in his final days. We are truly blessed to have such an excellent and caring medical staff who are there to treat not only the patient but to help the family through a difficult time as well. Brian's family would like to thank all of those who have given Brian a kind word, a gentle hand and loving care. Brian is survived by his parents, Bob and Darlena Ohlensehlen; his brother Jim (Wendy) Ohlensehlen; his sister Cindy (Herb) Gonzales; maternal grandparents James and Helen Kendrick and paternal grandmother, Betty Ohlensehlen. Nieces and Nephew: Madison, Sydney, Matthew and Sadie Ohlensehlen; Camryn Stuhlberg, Olivia, Leah, and Hope Gonzales. He is also survived by his extended family at Clearwater Care Center. He was preceded in death by his paternal Grandfather, A.E. Ohlensehlen. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A Service of Remembrance will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Peace Lutheran Church In Filer. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
