Donald Eldon Smith

Donald Eldon Smith 1957 - 2011 Donald Eldon Smith, age 53, of Twin Falls, Idaho died February 22, 2011 at St Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls from a sudden illness. Don was born in Encino, California on July 30, 1957, the son of Junior Gene Smith and Patricia M. Smith. He grew up in Simi Valley, California until the age of 16 when his family moved to Bellevue, Idaho. Don attended schools in Simi Valley and graduated from Wood River High School in 1974. He joined the US Navy and was injured during basic training and received a medical discharge. Don returned home to Bellevue and worked with his father at Smith and Sons Masonry. Don worked various jobs during his life including the US Forest Service. Don's family has many fond memories of days spent camping, fishing and waterskiing at Lake Havasu and the Colorado River. Don had a carefree and easy spirit and his kindness will be remembered by many. Don's favorite pastimes were fishing and celebrating his birthday. Everyone close to Don was reminded frequently in the weeks prior to his birthday. Surviving Don are his children Dean Earl Smith of Twin Falls, Idaho and Rodney Eugene Smith (Kendra) of Jerome, Idaho, grandchildren McKenzie, Teagan and Javen, Mother Patricia M. Smith of Twin Falls, Idaho, Sister Keran M. Juker (Jeff) of Twin Falls, Idaho, Brother Dale E. Smith of Portland, Oregon, Sister Sharyn J. Justus of Twin Falls, Idaho, Uncle Rod Paul (Mary Jane) of Portland, Oregon and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his father Junior Gene Smith and his brother and best friend Gary Dean Smith. A Wish And A Prayer May your spirit soar in freedom From the fears that gripped so tight. A celebration of life for Don will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 am at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho with Mike Parke officiating.
