John Peterson

John Peterson May 21, 1944 - February 19, 2011 John Peterson departed Saturday, February 19, 2011 with his family and friends by his side, after a long battle of Lou Gehrig's Disease. John was born May 21, 2011 to Robert and Annie Peterson in Hailey, Idaho, the youngest of two sons, along with his older brother, Bob Peterson. He grew up in Gannett, Idaho and attended school in Bellevue, Hailey and Twin Falls. He later attended the College of Southern Idaho and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Welding Technology. John and Rita were married July 21, 1978 in Filer, Idaho. They combined their families and raised four children together, John had two sons and Rita had a son and a daughter. John owned his own welding business, after working several other jobs. He built several Hydro electric plants and loved building pontoon boats. He became the Welding Instructor at the College of Southern Idaho in 2000, teaching all the students was one of his biggest rewards in life. John loved to fly ultra lights, fish, hunt and do metal art. Family gatherings and friends were special to him. John is survived by Rita Peterson (wife) of Filer Idaho, John K. Peterson (son) of Rupert Idaho, Dennis Peterson (son) of Rupert Idaho, Tonia(Ernie)Huber (daughter)of Filer Idaho, Shawn (Heather) Kuest (son) of Twin Falls Idaho, Fern Haines (mother in law) of Filer Idaho, Robert Peterson (brother) of Pocatello Idaho, and Joyia Lovell of Twin Falls Idaho. John had 6 grandchildren, Josh, Kylee, Chelsey, Jaden, Jayleen and Aaron. He also had one great-grand-child, Orion. John was preceded in death by Robert Peterson (father), Annie Peterson (Mother), Rod Berry (father in-law). We would like to give special thanks to Kris Hottel, you are one in a million. Many thanks to Laurell, Jeanne, Mindy. John, I love and miss you so much, along with all your family and friends that have been so loyal to the both of us. You will live in all our hearts forever. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 25th at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 26th at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, with graveside services following at Filer, Idaho.
