Betty Marie Wilson

Betty Marie Wilson, 88 of Boise, formerly of Twin Falls, passed away February 19, 2011 at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center Boise. She was born October 4, 1922 in Quitman, Missouri, the daughter of Earl and Bertha Bell (Howard) Busby. On February 14, 1942, Betty married Bill Wilson in Twin Falls, Idaho. They later had three wonderful children. Betty was a home maker most of her life, but was proud to have worked in the shipyards of California during WWII as a "Rosie The Riveter" helping to assemble ships for the war effort. After her husband Bill passed away in 1979, Betty took on a part-time job to help her sister with her office cleaning business. She enjoyed this little part-time job because it got her out of the house and it drew upon one of her great strengths, housekeeping. Betty was an incredible homemaker and always took pride in cleaning her home and keeping things tidy. Betty was a devoted mother, sister and friend. She attended Twin Falls Lions Club functions with her husband, and in the 1990's, enjoyed serving as an honorary roadie for the Teasley Jazz Band in which her son Tim performed. She attended many band functions and took great delight in furthering their musical adventures. Betty enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling and watching television. Perhaps her favorite pasttime was talking on the telephone as she spoke to her family and friends for hours on end. Surviving are her children- Dan Wilson and Benita Sloat-Wilson of McCall, Tim Wilson and Rich Wright of Boise, and Tammy Ryan of Boise. Betty's twin sister, Bonnie Walker currently lives in Richland, Washington. Betty was preceded in death by her brother - Jim Busby, and sisters - Glendora "Dodie" Busby, Anna Belle Sharp Vickers, Mae Mincemeyer and Mary Downing. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends may call on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., in Twin Falls from 5 - 7 P.M.
