MABEL PECK August 5, 1926 - February 6, 2011 Mabel Banner Petterson Peck, age 84 of Twin Falls passed away Sunday February 6, 2011 at Wynwood Senior Center in Twin Falls. She was born August 5, 1926 in Burley, the thirteenth child of Samuel and Harriet Annah Kidd Banner. She grew up in Burley and graduated from Burley High School in 1944. She married William Charlton "Chuck" Petterson from Burley on June 25, 1945. Five children were born to this marriage. In February 1979, she married Ross Peck of, Carey who preceded her in death. Mabel loved creating any opportunity to gather her family and friends together. She loved to cook and entertain. She enjoyed family dinners, picnics and camping at Red Fish Lake. Her greatest joy was that of being a wife and mother. She took pride in her role as a homemaker. She was always serving her family and others. Mabel loved to cook and enjoyed finding new recipes to try. Everyone who knew her knew that she was a wonderful cook. Many family and friends have enjoyed one of her delicious meals over the years. Mabel was a great friend and has lifelong friendships that have lasted over 80 years. She enjoyed playing cards and camping with friends and just sitting down to visit. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She is survived by five children, Karen (Mike) Weatherwax of Twin Falls, William Brent (Cara) Petterson of Burley, Terrell "Tink" (Dyan) Petterson, of Twin Falls, Tim (Becke) Petterson of Jerome, Dawn Makin of Buhl. 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. One sister Lavaun of Las Vegas; a Step-son Robb (Kathi) Peck of Carey, a Step-daughter Candy of Ogden, 13 step-grandchildren, 24 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, 4 sisters, and 2 grandsons. The funeral will be held Saturday February 12 , 2011 at 11:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 847 Eastland Dr. 1st Ward chapel, with Bishop Andrew Mix conducting. Graveside will follow at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Twin Falls. Friends may call at the church for a viewing from 10:00-11:00 am the same day.
