GERWIN E. WOODLAND 1932 - 2011 Gerwin Ernest Woodland, 78, of Twin Falls, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving wife and children on Saturday, February 5th. Gerwin was born on March 18, 1932 in Pocatello, Idaho. He was the third of nine children born to LeRoy and Myrtle Hawkley Woodland. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He married Evelyn Peterson on February 1, 1956, in the Idaho Falls Temple and they were blessed with eight children. Gerwin is survived by his wife of 55 years, his children Michael (Terry), Kathy Robinette (Willis), Wade, Walter (Lisa), Janet Bopp (Tony), JoLynn Greenwood (Brett), his 15 grandchildren, his siblings DeEtte McClure (Ed), Paula Peterson (Montie), Dennis (Vicky), Mary Hovey (Wayne), Reed (Sharon), and Wanda Wright (Richard). He was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, Leroy and Daniel, and two children, Nancy and John. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the LDS 7th Ward 847 Eastland Dr. N. in Twin Falls; visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road in Twin Falls, and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church (condolences: www.magic-valleyfuneralhome.com). Gerwin was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
