Betty Aileen Carpenter, 85, of Twin Falls, passed away December 10, 2010 at the Twin Falls Care Center. She was born February 2, 1925 in Glen Elder, Kansas, the daughter of Chester and Opal Giltner. She and her family moved from Kansas to Filer in 1936. In 1942 Betty graduated from the Filer High School. Following her graduation she worked in the Shipyards in San Francisco during WWII. Following that she went to work for Mt. Bell Telephone Company, working their from 1954 until her retirement in 1977. She married Roy Carpenter in Elko, Nevada on November 8, 1947. Betty loved to help her family. She worked hard to be able to help her children and grandchildren with their education and if they chose not to go to school she would assist them in furthering their lives in other ways financially. She loved reading and watching the news. She greatly enjoyed the 63 plus years she shared with her husband Roy. Surviving is her husband - Roy of Twin Falls, sons - Kelly (Carol) Carpenter of Twin Falls, Edward G. (Valerie) Carpenter of Twin Falls, daughter - Michelle (Francisco) Crespo of Gooding, along with six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday - December 27, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., in Twin Falls.
