Obituary for Barbara Joyce Gott Eden -- Barbara Joyce Gott, 64, lost her battle with cancer and passed from this life Tuesday, December 7, 2010. She was the third of eight children born to Jack and Arvilla Stanger Gott arriving November 5, 1946, in Wendell, Idaho. Barbara attended several schools in the Magic and Wood River Valleys, graduating from Jerome in 1965. That summer she married Alan Ward. Together they had three daughters. They later divorced. She married Mark Howard and they also divorced. Barb worked at various jobs in Murtaugh, later purchasing Mark and Barb's Market which she owned and operated for over 20 years. Most recently she was employed at Russ's Market in Eden where many more friends were acquired. Her welcoming smile always greeted each and every customer. Barb was an avid golfer, playing as many tournaments as possible. She enjoyed life in the outdoors -- hunting, fishing, and camping. A trip to Jackpot was taken more than a time or two, and video poker held quite an attraction. A highlight was spending time with family and friends. Her great sense of humor and quick wit was not easily matched. She will be missed as a good friend, special sister, loving mother, and crazy grandma! Barbara is survived by her daughters Stephanie (Greg) Sievers and Tiffany Clark all of Murtaugh, and Wendy (Roger) Rountree of Filer; her sisters Beth Gott of Hansen, Jackie (Richard) Boyd of Twin Falls, and Carol (Wade) Quesnell of Post Falls; her brothers Mike (DeeDee) Gott of Eden, Dan (Josie) Gott of Jerome, Dennis Gott of Burley, and Tim (Kory) Gott, Payette; her granddaughters Shailey Sievers, Taylor Sievers, and Piper Rountree; and her grandsons Tel Clark and Binson Rountree. She also leaves her faithful four-legged companions Lucy and Max. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home on Kimberly Road with Pastor Kevin Anderson officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday evening, December 10, from 5:00 to 7:00 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday morning.
