Dorothy Alane Green was born 11/20/62 in Whittier California. Passed away 08/05/10 swiftly, after a long battle with liver disease. She had given the doctors a run for their money by living three years longer than the year they gave her. She left behind many friends and family including, but not limited to, Her Parents Ron Wilcox and Dian Berg and her step Mother Elaine Wilcox and step Father Don Berg, Her sisters September Heart ( Cookie), Tonya Herrin, Becky Parmenter, Her niece Dawn Dian Jackson, extended family Emily Hiltonin and Meggin Green, her brothers Kenton Wilcox, Eddy Wilcox, Kevin Phillips, Dorothy's beloved partner Scott Young, Whom she loved dearly, Brother-in-law Al Herrin and her Nieces and Nephew Shelby Wilcox, Nick Wilcox and Roman Herrin. Dorothy was a loving, giving adventurous spirit. Her artistic ability gave insight to her soul and lifted many spirits. She loved to paint and do bead work. She truly made some beautiful jewelry. She was at one time a great photographer. She loved the camera. She had a gift for capturing things that were not obvious to others. Dorothy's last week with us was happy and fun. Looking back we all can see that she knew something and did not share with us because it was like Dorothy to not want others to worry or fret. She took bike rides, ate junk food and laughed a lot. Dorothy's Mother Wrote, at 1:20 Am on Aug. 5, "as a mother, I can only express personal feelings, so this is for Dorothy! You made my heart sing. There is a hole in my heart now, empty and it's going to take me a long time to heal. I miss my, "I love you" hug at bed time." Today 8/10/10 you are here closer which helps me some." She had many, many adventures in her life. The ones she cherished the most were the ones she took with her mother. She spoke of many nights in the desert under the starry sky and jumping cactus. Al Herrin and she had disagreements over whether they really existed or not. They loved teasing and insulting each other. How amazing that must have been for Dorothy and her mom to have the bond they had. They took each other, in her mother's word, "Warts and all." She spoke that she loved her father Ron Wilcox very much she was glad to have special time to be close with Dad. Dorothy had a special relationship with each of her siblings all of us have stories about Dorothy. She loved us all, helped us all in some special way. For her sister Tonya, the story is one that brought them both closer to God. Dorothy spent a time in Pocatello Hospital near death. Tonya was in Twin falls and out of work, no money. Someone in her church helped her answer a nagging call on her heart to go pray over her sister. She drove to Pocatello and God made it possible for her to anoint Dorothy with oil and pray by faith for her healing. She came out of her coma! Wow, Right. Tonya has only twice in her life had God ask so loudly for her to do something and both those times have been for her sisters. Tonya stayed with her for hours feeding her and helping her. She knew who Tonya was off and on. God challenges your faith at times and when Tonya left she thought she may never see her sister again. Dorothy was very ill. Dorothy and Tonya were not real close when they were young. In fact they barely knew each other. God gave Tonya a gift for answering the call to pray. Tonya had three wonderful years to get to know her sister! Dorothy spent every Tuesday night at Tonya's house and she last night with us was at Tonya's house. She loved her dearly So In loving memory of Dorothy I invite all who want to write a special note on the website to do so and it will stay forever, for all to read.
