ROBERT VIRGIL SLATER

Robert (Bob) Virgil Slater 1938 - 2010 Robert "Bob" Virgil Slater, age 72 of Twin Falls Idaho passed away November 25, 2010 at his home in Twin Falls with his family at his side. Bob was born in Twin Falls on March 30, 1938, the son of Virgil Henry and Vivian Eleanor Johnson Slater. He grew up and attended schools in Twin Falls graduating from Twin Falls high school in 1956. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving from May of 1956 to April of 1958. Upon honorably being discharged, he went to work for the state of Idaho Department of Highways, Right of Way Division. He retired from the State of Idaho Department of Transportation in March of 1995. On April 21, 1963, he married the love of his life Helen Kraus Slater, into this Union were born, two children, Kirk and Stephanie. In his spare time, Bob was an avid golfer. Surviving Bob is his loving wife of 47 years, Helen Slater of Twin Falls, son Kirk (Bridgett) Slater and four children, Devin Bryant, Ariel Medina, Alonna Medina, and Cesar Loza, all of Twin Falls, daughter Stephanie (Ron) Gassman and two children, Michael Gassman and Jon-O Gassman, all of Medford, Oregon, He is also survived by his brother, Jeffrey (Sherry) Slater of Carson City, Nevada; 1 nephew and numerous nieces. Cremation and Private Family services will be held under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
