Edith A. Duncan 1917- 2010 Edith A. Duncan was born May 9th, 1917 to Aaron and Sarah Henry of Peace Valley, Missouri. Edith passed from this life to a better place she calls home November 26, 2010 to be with her Lord whom she served faithfully for 93 years. She attended school at Riggs School and attended Church at Bennett's Chapel in Peace Valley, Missouri. She was a Member of the First Assembly of God Church, Twin Falls, Idaho. On May 10, 1937, She married the love of her life, George Duncan, in West Plains, Missouri. They had 6 children, and in 1958 they opened their hearts and home and family to a beautiful adopted daughter, Carol Johnson. Edith was pre-ceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Rev. George Duncan, two grand children, Tommy Hoshaw and Stephanie Duncan, her parents and 4 brothers, and one sister, two son-in-laws and her Great Grandson Jeffrey Duncan. She served joyfully beside her husband who was an Ordained Minister for the Assemblies of God. Together they pioneerd 3 churches, Faith Assembly of God in Twin Falls, Idaho, Calvary Assembly in Buhl, Idaho and Mt. Vernon Assembly of God in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Edith loved gardening, was a wonderful cook and homemaker and was a devoted wife, Mother and Grandmother. Her compassionate heart and loving spirit won her a multitude of friends. Edith is survived by her children Lois Stephens of Nampa, Idaho, Barbara Hoshaw of Jerome, Idaho, George Duncan of Orofino, Idaho, Dan Duncan of West Plains, Missouri, Beverly Kirby of LaFayette, Tennessee, Pat Pollard of Twin Falls, Idaho and Carol Johnson of Lewiston, Idaho along with 5 son-in-laws, 2 daughter-in-laws and28 Grandchildren, 79 Great Grandchildren and 41 Great Great Grandchildren.. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Twin Falls First Assemble of God Church 143 Locust Ave. North, Twin Falls. Interment will be at Twin Falls Cemetery, Twin Falls, Idaho. Visitation will be held Monday, November 29, 2010 at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls, from 6 - 8 P.M. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her and loved her.
