Etta Lou David

ETTA LOU DAVID 1925 - 2010 Etta Lou was born May 12, 1925 in Columbus, Montana, to Earl and Fernia Woodard and passed away peacefully on November 17, 2010 after a yearlong battle with kidney cancer. She was fondly called Etta Lou, Sue, Mother, Auntie, Grandma, & Grandma Lou by friends and family. She was raised in Wyoming and attended school at Hawk Springs, Wyo. She married Dewey Irwin David on April 12, 1942, in Banner County Nebraska. They had one son Dewey Lee. They lived in Yoder, Guernsey, Gas Hills, Douglas and Riverton Wyo. In 1962, while living in California, she attended barber school. She owned and operated her barber shop in Riverton for 16 years. After closing her shop, she continued to work in another barber shop for 9 years. She attended many rodeos, steer ropings, steer stoping, and team ropings across the U.S. supporting her husband, son and grandson. She was a trick rider for several years and also competed in barrel racing at the rodeos. She and Dewey enjoyed wintering in Arizona with friends and having them visit Wyo. in the summer. She enjoyed music and a good card game of any kind. Dewey passed away in 1999, and in September, 2001 she moved to her home in Moon Glo Village in Buhl, ID to be closer to family. She also resided at River Rock Assisted Living in Buhl and Bridgeview Estates in Twin Falls, ID. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings Margaret Ione Woodard, Aaron Connor Woodard, Myra Berneice Yorges, Harold Lee Woodard and Charles Wayne Woodard. She is survived by her son, Dewey Lee David and his wife Paulette of Goldendale WA, her grandson, J.D. David and his wife Debbie of Fort Morgan, CO and granddaughter, Bobbi and her husband Flint Michaels and their 4 children of Phoenix AZ. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many close friends. She will be missed by all. At her request there will be no service. Memorials in Etta Lou's memory are suggested to the Buhl Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 53, Buhl Idaho 83316 or any charity of your choice.
