Obituary for Helen Dohse Matthiesen Helen Dohse Matthiesen, 95, of Twin Falls passed away Monday, November 15th at River Ridge Care Center in Twin Falls. Helen was born June 4, 1915 in Sherwood, Oregon to Walter Ludwig and Alwina Elizabeth Kaster Schmidt. Helen graduated from Tigard High School in Tigard, Oregon. She married Edward Herman Dohse in Sherwood, Oregon in 1935 and to this union, two children were born, Dale and Margene. Edward later passed away here in Twin Falls. In 1977, Helen married Marvin Matthiesen in Filer. She was active in several organizations including the Kimberly School District PTA, LWML, Excelsior Social Club, 4-H Leader and Peace Lutheran Church in Filer. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cooking. Helen is survived by her daughter, Margene (Stan) Bauer of Pullman, Washington; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Dohse of Kimberly; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; her son, Dale Eugene Dohse; and a brother, Romer Schmidt. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20th at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls. Pastor Chris Reinke , a nephew, from Peace Lutheran Church will be officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home the night prior on Friday November 19th from 5 until 7 p.m. A private interment will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park.
