William Henry Munger

April 29, 1913 — October 6, 2010

William (Bill) Henry Munger passed away October 6, 2010 in St. Helens, Oregon. Bill was born April 29, 1933 in Twin Falls, Idaho to William and Leora Munger. He grew up in Twin Falls and attended local schools, graduating from Twin Falls High School in 1951. Bill joined the United States Marine Corp and served in Korea. Upon returning home, Bill married his long-time sweetheart Julia Jean Hoops on September 2, 1955. They both moved to Boston where Bill finished his undergraduate schooling at Babson College. Bill and Jean moved back to Twin Falls after living in Boston, where Bill worked in finance, managing and owning the Rogerson Hotel, and for Farmers Home administration. Bill also continued his education and received his Masters degree in Business Administration from Idaho State University. Bill and Jean have two sons, Dan (wife Rosie) Munger of Preston, Idaho and Casey (wife MaryJan) Munger of St. Helens, Oregon; six grandchildren: Dan's three children - Sean of Pocatello, Idaho; Cassi of Preston, Idaho; Tyrell (wife Danielle) of Twin Falls; and Casey's three children - Caitlin of Provo, Utah; Michaela, and Isaac, both of St. Helens, Oregon; and one great- granddaughter, Tyrell's daughter Tay. Bill and Jean lived in Twin Falls and loved the people and the area, and only moved to Oregon in 2010 in consideration of health concerns. Bill loved his family. His delight and joy has been his wife for the past 55 years. He and Jean built a log cabin in the Stanley Basin shortly after they were married for the purpose of family enjoyment. This served as a family gathering place for two generations and has been a monument of his family focus. Bill was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and lived in the Twin Falls Ninth Ward for many years, enjoying the fellowship of his friends in the church. Bill and Jean were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Utah temple on September 2, 1995. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls with Bishop J R Stander of the Ninth Ward presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
