EDGAR PAUL BALLARD

May 30, 1921 — September 6, 2010

Edgar Paul "Bud" Ballard 1921 -- 2010 Edgar Paul "Bud" Ballard completed his earthly journey on September 6, 2010. He was a hard worker all of his life so it is fitting that those labors ceased on Labor Day. Bud was born May 30, 1921 in Washington Oklahoma to Cordia Ruth Boley and Joe Ballard. His mother and stepfather, Owen Gilchrist most influenced his life and instilled the values that stayed with him till his death; honesty, integrity, responsibility to work hard and take care of his family. They also talked to him about the Bible, God and their Savior, Jesus Christ. It took a long time before Bud realized the truth of those words. He gave his heart and life to the Lord after he was 70 years old. Bud married Vandella Jones and they had five children: Joyce, Donald Gene, Thelma, Brenda, and Eddie. They were later divorced. He then married Ruby and the two of them worked as a team until her death. He worked many jobs over the years including mining in Pitcher, Oklahoma, farm labor in Missouri, crane operator, in a foundry in Beloit, Wisconsin, custom farming in Idaho and Nevada and as a Mill operator and maintenance man at Haney Seed Company, and South Side Bean Company in Twin Falls, and Moore Warehouse in Hansen, Idaho. The last few years Bud lived in an apartment in Filer and had many friends there including the children who called him their buddy "Bud". He was faithful to his church, Hansen Assembly of God and enjoyed listening to his tapes of the Bible daily. A quiet man, he was never "up front" at the church. But he contributed in many ways that he preferred remained anonymous. He will be greatly missed by his church family. On Monday morning, while praying with a friend he left his worn-out body and went on home to Heaven. A Service of Remembrance for Bud will be held from Monday, September 13, 2010 at 2 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls. Cremation and Private Inurnment are under the direction of the funeral home. Those wishing to share condolences may do so at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com.
