Norman Fillmore

Norman "Butch" Fillmore 1940 - 2010 Norman "Butch" Fillmore, age 69 of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away Thursday, April 28, 2010 at Bridgeview Estates Retirement Center in Twin Falls, Idaho. Butch was born October 25, 1940 in Twin Falls, to Harold and Lillian (Howard) Fillmore. He grew up and attended schools in the Magic Valley, graduating from Twin Falls High in 1958. He then enlisted in the Marine Corps and served from 1958 -1962, when he was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He returned to Idaho and worked in many different jobs, such as Twin Falls Deputy Sheriff, was an EMT and worked with Twin Falls County Search and Rescue and in Transportation, first with Gem State Oil and then with Desert Star Transport. Due to a disability, he retired and then began enjoying his favorite hobbies. Butch loved hunting, fishing especially for Brook trout, in his younger years loved rodeo, snowmobiling and was an exceptional swimmer. He would take his family on excursions to hunt for Asparagus or Morel Mushrooms. Or he loved to drive around and hunt for Pheasant and other game birds. He was also a member of the Twin Falls B.P.O. Elks. He was a man of few words but his family meant everything to him. They were always uppermost in his thoughts and in his heart. He was someone they could depend on and was there when they needed him. Butch was kindhearted, gentle spirit and everyone's friend. He never had an enemy and those that knew him would use one word to describe him, Gentleman. He would talk to everyone and never knew a stranger. A most non-judgemental , tolerant and loving soul who adored his daughters above all others. A Memorial Service for Butch will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bridgeview Estates Retirement Center in Twin Falls, Idaho with Pastor Paul Jordan officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Twin Falls Cemetery in Twin Falls, Idaho. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
