Charles Arthur Steinmetz 1931 - 2010 Charles Arthur Steinmetz, age 78 passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at his home in Eden, Idaho. Born December 2, 1931 in Eden Idaho. Graduated 9th grade at Russell Lane Elementary 1945. Graduated high school in Eden, Idaho 1949. Throughout Chuck's life he worked as a farmer on many of the farms in the Magic Valley. He also worked at U.S. Steel, Henry's Farm Service in Kimberly, Northwest Crane Twin Falls and also as a ranch hand in Hollister. Charles retired in 1995 and devoted his time to his antiques and family. Charles and Frances were married in Elko Nevada in 1971. He was blessed with three children, Jan, Carrie and Chris. And when Charles and Frances were married, he was further blessed with five more children, Vickie, Robert, Donny, Denise, and Scott. Charles took over his father's farm in 1974 and has lived there till his passing. Charles was very active and involved in the Good Sam Club, Veteran Motor Club, and Magic Valley Antique Tractor Pullers. He was very proud of the antiques that he has restored and enjoyed including Oliver Tractors, plus many others, fuel trucks, cars, pickups and many other various farm implements. Charles or Chuck as his family and friends called him was loved and will be missed very much by his children and his dog T-Bone. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Fran, sister, Dorothy Shobe, & by eight children Jan, Carrie, and Chris, Vickie, Robert, Donny, Denise and Scott. He has a total of 18 grandchildren, 8 great grand children, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother George and Minnie Steinmetz, also his brother Harold. Memorial Services for Charles will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of the Nazarene, 3550 E. 3750 N. Kimberly, Idaho with Pastor Mike Seward officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Chuck's name be sent to Cancer Research, c/o American Cancer Society, 2676 Vista Ave. Boise, ID 83705.
