JUANITA MAE HILL MUNK 1932 - 2009 Juanita Mae Hill Munk passed away peacefully in her home in Buhl, Idaho with her husband at her side on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the age of 76. The daughter of Dalice and Virginia (Christopherson) Hill, Juanita was born during the Great Depression, September 10, 1932 in San Francisco, CA, where she spent the first 5 years of her life, after which she moved with her family to Twin Falls, Idaho. She graduated from Twin FallsHigh School in 1950. She then earned her nursing degree in Idaho Falls, ID then her degree in education from the University of Utah. After her education Juanita was an RN and Nursing OB/GYN instructor. After raising her family she worked with her husband as his assistant in his dental practice. Juanita married Albert Juan Munk July 12, 1956 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Her focus in life then became raising her 5 children. Juanita had a love for music. A gifted violinist and vocalist she earned a degree in music in the years she was raising her children. She was a member of the Magic Valley Symphony and Chorale for over 20 years. She also had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed camping with her family. Later in life she traveled with her husband to Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Hawaii and her favorite -The Holy Land. A deeply spiritual and religious person, Juanita was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was very active in serving others in various callings including Primary President, Relief Society President, Choir Director, Cub Scout Leader, teacher, Stake Music Chairman, and Stake Relief Society Presidency. She served an LDS Mission in Portugal with her husband. She also served as a temple worker for many years in the Boise temple. Juanita was a remarkable person who freely shared her time and talents with others. She was highly esteemed by those who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Juanita is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Albert Juan Munk of Buhl, ID, and children Julie Van Sickle of Buhl, ID, Alan (Tammy) Munk of Winnemucca, NV, Ron (Anne) Munk of Cotati, CA, Steve (KayLyn) of Redmond, WA, Dave (Joan) of Winnemucca, NV, and siblings, Barbara Bingham of Twin Falls, ID, Delcie Hymas of West Valley City, UT, Roger Hill of Albion, ID, and Beverly Kellersberger of South Jordan, UT. Also surviving are her 17 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Her parents, Dalice and Virginia Hill and her grandson, Jeremy Van Sickle preceded her in death. Funeral Services for Juanita will be held Friday, August 7, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Buhl LDS Church on Fair Ave in Buhl, ID. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 9:00 A.M. at the Church. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, Idaho immediately following the Funeral Services. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
