Lucy Marie Altomare

LUCY MARIE ALTOMARE 1913 - 2009 Lucy Altomare, age 96 was taken by the Lord's Hand, July 12, 2009. Born in Philadelphia, PA, February 27, 1913, the daughter of MaryJosephineSaponara and JosephSabetti. She was the eldest of 9 children. She attended St.Bridget's CatholicSchool until the 8th grade. She worked in retail sales and was very dedicated to her work. On March 6, 1933, she married Daniel Altomare and to this union were born three children, Rose, Dolores and Frank. Her love for her Catholic Church and for her children shone in her face, and her loving words to all her friends will never be forgotten. Lucy moved to Twin Falls in 1987 and after her husband passed away she moved to WoodstoneRetirementCenter and loved it there. She was their exercise leader at age 93. Lucy attended all their activities and never missed the square dancers, Old Time Fiddlers, and church people that came to sing. We will all remember how much she loved ElvisPresley, his music and his movies. She touched so many people with her smiles. Surviving Lucy are her children, Rose (Don) Litzinger and Dolores Altomare of Twin Falls, ID, Frank (Andrea) Altomare of Philadelphia, PA, and adopted daughter, Susan Matney of Twin Falls, ID, sister, Betty (Sam) Cavota of Philadelphia, PA, brothers, Francis (Marie) Morano of Spokane, WA, and Rick (Judy) Morano of Las Vegas, NV, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Her parents, her husband, six brothers and sisters, her grandsons, Charles Gudknecht, Donnie Litzinger and Adam Hammer preceded her in death. A Service of Remembrance for Lucy will be held Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho with Pastor Jeff Humphreys officiating. Private Inurnment will be held at a later date in Westminster Cemetery in Westminster, PA. The family would like to deeply thank Woodstone Assisted Living for all the love and care they gave to our Mom.
