Richard Denis Kirsch

Richard Denis Kirsch 1942 - 2009 Richard Denis Kirsch, age 66, of Kimberly, ID, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, at Oak Creek Rehabilitation Center in Kimberly, ID. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, October 8,1942 to Robert and Kathleen (Beyers) Kirsch, Denis moved to Idaho with his parents at a young age and attended Twin Falls Catholic schools, graduating from Twin Falls High School in 1960. Upon graduating, Richard enlisted in the Navy and served until 1966. During his Naval service, he met and married Darlene Lekey in 1962. To this union were born two children, a daughter,Sheridan and a son, Rick. They later divorced. A young Denis worked for Theissen Motors in Twin Falls and then the last 30+ years of his life, he was employed by Magic Valley Distributing as their Fleet Manager and their head "Fix-It" Man. On August 19, 1996 he married Toni Harrington. After Denis and Tony married, the "Thrill of a Lifetime" for both of them was finding the perfect piece of property. Together, they built the home of their dreams. To Denis, going home at night was like going on vacation, and it was pretty hard getting him away. Denis was extremely active and loved most outdoor sports. He enjoyed fishing in Idaho and Alaska. He loved riding snowmobiles, 4-wheeling with his wife and his friends. Many fun times were spent on vacation with the White family. Nascar races at Daytona, and Salmon fishing in Alaska. Denis was devoted to his family and to his friends and loved them all. Denis was a member of the Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also was a supporter and member of Ducks Unlimited and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Surviving Denis are his wife, Toni Kirsch of Kimberly, ID, son, Rick Kirsch of Twin Falls, ID, step-sons, Dr. Mike Harrington of Salt Lake City, UT, Dr. James Harrington of Boston, MA, Aaron Harrington of Twin Falls, ID, Matthew (Melissa) Harrington of Twin Falls, ID, a grandson, Mason Harrington, a grandaughter, Mylie Harrington, his mother, Kathleen Kirsch of Nampa, four brothers, Bob Kirsch, Larry Kirsch, Marty Kirsch, & Jim Kirsch Sr., three sisters, Margaret ,Michelle and Mary K, and cousins, Jim Kirsch JR. and family of Montana. Denis was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kirsch, brother, Tim Kirsch and daughter, Sheridan Kirsch Florence. Memorial Services for Denis will be held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, ID at 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 2, 2009, with Pastor Dale Metzger officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, ID. Special thanks to Charles Lloyd and his caring staff at Oak Creek. Also thanks to Dr. Hammond and his staff for three years of excellent care. Thanks to all the neighbors for calls, help and support for the last three years.
