Shirley Jean Harris, 71, of Hansen, passed away March 24, 2009 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born March 15, 1938 in Twin Falls, Idaho the daughter of Ralph and Irene Harris. She attended elementary school at ImmanuelLutheranSchool in Twin Falls, and graduated from the Twin FallsHigh School, and then attended college at IdahoStateUniversity in Pocatello. On August 13, 1961, she married a Hansen farmer, Bryan Harris Jr. in Twin Falls. To this union were born three children. Shirley worked as a school teacher for 2 years and then was a home maker who enjoyed raising her family for the next 46 years. She was a member of the RedeemerLutheranChurch in Kimberly. Throughout her life she enjoyed sewing, gardening and was the longest serving member of the BuzzLangdonVisitorsCenter. The highlight of her life was caring for her grandchildren and being able to travel all fifty United States. Surviving are her husband - Bryan Harris Jr. of Hansen, Idaho, her son - Robert Bryan (Meile) Harris of Hansen, daughters - Sheryl Ann (Kelly) VerWey, of Hansen and Elva Marie (Rick) McNurlin of Hansen, brother - Loyd (Vivian) Harris of Edmonds, Washington, and 11 grandchildren - Ryan, Kallie, Brianne, Blake, Taylor, Kelly, Alex, Jenna, Danya, Mallori, Haydden, along with one great grandchild - Madilyn. She was preceded in death by her parents - Ralph and Irene Harris. Shirley will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kimberly. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
