Charles Francis Homan

Charles "Charley" Francis Homan Charles Francis Homan was born, the son of James Matthew Homan and Goldie Maude (Butler) Homan, on September 22, 1929 in Kimberly, Idaho. He was raised in Kimberly, on a farm. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, on the front line in a tank. He was honorably discharged in 1953 and married Barbara Mary (Ratliff) on April 28, 1953. They were married almost 57 years. Charley was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Dick; Bill; Jim; and Pete, one sister, Beaulah Stoddard and one grandson Baby Charley Hasman. He is survived by his wife, Barbara and their four children: Carla Jenkins, of Hansen; Mary Kopydlowski; of Kimberly; Mark (Stacey) Homan of Albion, Idaho and Ralph (Holly) Homan of Edwall, Washington; his sister, Mary Casper of Filer, Idaho; his grandchildren: Michelle, Jennifer, Brian, Matthew, Lauren, James Barry, Ryan and Gary. Also his great-grandchildren: Dakota, Manieca, Hezekiah, Haleigh and Brooklyn. He loved them all. He also loved his many nieces and nephews: Nancy, Raymond, Mike S., Goldie, Philip, Tom, Mike H., Ernie, Vonnie, Julie, Karen, Linda, Margaret, Grant, Gene C., Kenneth, Nancy, Gene S., Leon, Greg, and Sharon. He was a farmer, and also worked for the Idaho Seed Bean for many years. When he was younger, he loved hunting and fishing, especially with his dog, Mr. Minker. In the later years, he loved sitting in the swing in the back yard watching his garden grow. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and an Atlanta Braves fan. The family would like to thank the nurses at the St. Luke's Hospice for their care and concern during Charley's illness. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Tuesday March 17th at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 161 6th Ave E., Twin Falls with a Rosary being held 6pm Monday, March 16th at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls. Service and arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home.
