Wanda Lucille Allen Wanda Lucille Allen, 90, of Filer; passed away in Twin Falls, Idaho on February 18, 2009. She was born June 24, 1918, to Benjamin F. and Emma Carson Allen in Filer, Idaho. Wanda was an angel among us. Her days were filled with endless acts of service to her family and her church. She always had a listening ear, a sweet smile and a gentle and kind word. She had a mother's heart and endeared herself to her nieces and nephews who have been eternally influenced by her life and example. She grew up on the family farm in Filer, graduated from FilerHigh School and attended Twin FallsBusinessCollege. She worked for a bean company in Filer, an arms plant in Salt Lake City during World War II, as a secretary for the Boy Scouts of America in Twin Falls, and at Ore-Ida potato processing plant in Burley. The latter part of her life was spent managing her farms. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving many years as the organist in the Filer Ward. She also served in Sunday School, Relief Society, and Primary organizations. She was generous in giving of her time and means to support family and missionary service. She loved gardening, canning, traveling, visiting with her nieces and nephews and was a great cook. She was a gifted pianist. She devoted her life and selfless service to caring for her parents and sisters. Some of her greatest joy came in making Holidays special occasions for the family. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by 3 nieces and 6 nephews and their families. Services will be held at the FilerLDSStakeCenter on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing Sunday evening at Parke's Funeral Home from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. and prior to the services from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at the Filer LDS Stake Center. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
