David John Long

February 27, 1942 — November 18, 2008

In loving memory of David John Long, 66 of Hansen passed away November 18, 2008 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls. He was born on February 27, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI to William and Olive Long. He grew up in Watertown, WI where he attended school and was baptized Moravian at the Ebenezer Memorial Church. David moved to Twin Falls in 1962 where he met and married Dorothy June Stanger, they had 3 sons; Randy, Doug and Scott. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 40 years until he retired in 1996 due to health reasons. David loved his family and friends especially his grand children and great-grand children, and liked spending time at Murphy Hot Springs with them. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his trips with his brother Bill; he also enjoyed watching football, baseball and NASCAR racing. He is survived by his sons, Doug Long, Las Vegas, NV; Randy (Kellee) Long, Clearlake, WA; mother, Olive Long, Twin Falls; brother, Bill (Doreen) Long, Boise; granddaughter, Melisa (Steve) Hollowell, Twin Falls; grandsons, Ryan (Amy) Long, Sedro-Woolley, WA; Casey Long, Clearlake, WA; Danny Long, Twin Falls; great-grandchildren, Layla and London Hollowell, Twin Falls. He was preceded in death by his father, William; wife, Dorothy and his youngest son, Scott. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Twin Falls Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls.
