Duane Arthur May Duane Arthur May, age 72, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, in Amarillo, Texas, at Northwest Heart Hospital. Duane was born June 8, 1936, in Manhattan, Kan. He loved the Lord his whole life. From 1954 to 2004, he was a member of the Pacific Northwest Ironworkers Local Union No. 86. His career as an ironworker included owning and operating several reinforcing steel companies and completing projects such as the Seattle King Dome, Brownlee and Oxbow Dams, Boundry Dam and the Seattle Space Needle. An avid horseman his entire life, Duane raised trained and bred AQHA horses for more than 44 years. During the 1960s and 1970s, he competed as a steer wrestler in the PRCA and hunted elk in the wildernesses of Washington, Idaho and Montana. From 1967 to 1982, Duane owned and operated a cattle ranch in Deer Park, Wash. From 1982 to 2008, he owned and operated a cattle ranch in Nara Visa/Logan, N.M. Duane is survived and loved by his wife of 52 years, Patricia (Decker) May, and his six children, daughter, Patricia Denise Musick (Leon) of Dora, N.M., daughter, Lisa D. May of Clovis, N.M., son, John W. May of Bonney Lake, Wash., son, David C. McCoy (Debbie) of Cocalla, Idaho, daughter, Dyana L. Carney (James) of Fort Worth, Texas, and son, Duane May Jr. (Betsy) of Spokane, Wash.; his eight grandchildren, granddaughter, Katie Earl(Kenny) of Logan, N.M., granddaughter, Elizabeth Barry (Collin) of Albuquerque, N.M., grandson, Justin May of Austin, Texas, grandson, Dillon May of Renton, Wash., grandson, Keenan May of Spokane, Wash., granddaughter, Adelynn May of Spokane, Wash., grandson, Wesley May of Spokane, Wash., and granddaughter, Isabella May of Bonney Lake, Wash.; three great-grandsons, Scotty Earl, Cion Barry and Zachary Barry; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Barry; his four sisters, Juanita Jones of Federal Way, Wash., Naomi Tupper of Nampa, Wanda Fouts of Richland, Wash., and Geraldine Valline of Federal Way, Wash.; his two brothers, James May (Janet) of Jerome and Harold (Virginia) May of Enumclaw, Wash.; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jessie May; his brother, Richard May; and his sisters, Ruby Merritt, Esther Rynearson, Marge Reising, Opal Yount and Shirley Anderson.? There will be a viewing held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road in Twin Falls.
