Klyda H. Wake

January 12, 1924 — September 9, 2008

OAKLEY - Klyda Hunter Wake, 84, of Oakley, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center. She was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Oakley, the daughter of Emma Severe and Cyrus Rosel Hunter. She lived and worked in Oakley all her life except for a brief time when she attended business college. She married Roger Kay Wake on Nov. 11, 1959 in Oakley. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. At the time of her death, she was involved in the German extraction program transferring birth, death and marriage records to facilitate permanent storage of the records for use in genealogy work. Klyda is survived by her sister, Maxa (Jack) Stanger of Twin Falls, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and three sisters. She was talented in music and art and humbly shared her talents willingly with all who asked. Her sense of humor and giving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, in the Oakley LDS 2nd Ward Chapel in Oakley, with Brother Weston Hawkes conducting. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Oakley Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls.
