Betty Lou Crawford

Betty Lou Crawford, age 61, went home to her heavenly father and received her wings, on September 6, 2008 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls due to an extended heart condition. Betty was born on December 12, 1946 to Harry and Madge (Armstrong) Hockett. She was raised in the Twin Falls area with a brief time in California. After returning to the Magic Valley area she enrolled in the College of Southern Idaho LPN nursing program in 1967 and graduated in 1968. Betty then began her 40-year nursing career, working at several medical offices in the Magic Valley, touching many lives throughout her career. It was often said, "people did not come to see the Doctor, they came to see Betty". Betty married Raymond Crawford in Reno, Nevada on October 15, 1982. They lived south of Twin Falls where she helped raise four children. She retired in 2006 due to declining health. Betty was a devoted member of the Valley Christian Church in Twin Falls, where she was loved by all. Betty enjoyed many hobbies including reading her Bible, church, mystery books, sewing, helping people, movies, camping and Sara her dog. Betty was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed. Betty is survived by her husband Ray, children, Dr. Cynthia Barnett of Yucaipa, California, Debbie Cvencek-DiFiore of Twin Falls, David (Stacy) Crawford of Twin Falls, Shannon (Kenny) Hodges of Kimberly, two sisters, Norma (Bob) Hyde of Filer, Ruth (Sherm) Hansen of Kimberly, ten grandchildren, Savanna Barnett, Alexis, Stephen and Kali Crawford, Ariana and Nigel Cvencek, Mya and Zoe DiFiore, and Taylor and Railey Hodges, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents and one sister Jean. There will be a viewing held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls from 6 to 8 p.m. on September 11, 2008. Services will be held at 1 p.m. at the Twin Falls First Church of the Nazarene, 1231 Washington Street North, Twin Falls on Friday September 12, 2008. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Valley Christian Church building fund or the charity of your choice.
