Wanda F. Coates

Wanda Coates, 74 of Filer, Idaho passed away on June 29, 2008 after a courageous battle of cancer. She was born on May 30, 1934 in Shoshone, Idaho. She attended school in Shoshone, Idaho. She married William L. Coates on March 1, 1948 in Burley, Idaho and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised 6 children, James; Bill; Lynn; Mike; Melanie and Merilee. She was known for her quick wit and sense of humor that would brighten any room. She was a warm and caring person who will be missed by all that knew her. She enjoyed painting, gardening and camping with family and friends. She also was an excellent cook. She is survived by her husband, William Coates; children, William Coates Jr. (Julie); Robert Coates (Deana); Mike Coates (Sandie); Melanie Erickson (Steve) and Merilee Jacobs (Michael); 15 grandchildren; siblings, Ruby Coates (Johnny); Phil Cobeaga (LaNelle); Joe Garchina and Benny Garchina. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James and grandsons, Chase and Bryan. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Filer LDS Stake Center with Bishop Robert Kohntopp officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 2, 2008 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls and one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home.
