Dean Lee Dedman, 55 of Twin Falls passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008 at his home. He was born July 13, 1952 in Salmon, Idaho to David Dedman and Dolly Austin McClelland. Dean attended school in Idaho and graduated from Pocatello High School. He has lived in Salmon, ID; Pocatello, ID; Elko, NV; San Diego, CA and Walnut Creek, CA but Dean always loved the Salmon River Country. Dean married Marilyn Braga Checketts on August 20, 2002 at Agape Foursquare Church in Twin Falls. He was a disabled veteran and was proud to have served his country as a weapons specialist for 20 years in the United States Navy having served in the Viet Nam and Gulf Storm theatres. Dean was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church, were he found the love of God's family in a strong and mighty way. Dean valued most in life his relationship with God, his family was the biggest priority and his heart was as good and big as his physical size. He was also a member of the Northwest Regional Human Services Association. At the time of his death, Dan was pursuing a second certification as an Advanced Theophostic Prayer Ministry facilitator; this was something that was always a priority and one that was a deep faithful passion for Dean as his hearts desire was to help others. While attending Contra Costa County Community College in California, Dean loved the ability he had to help the mentally challenged learn how to do horticulture. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn J.; mother, Dolly Austin Dedman McClelland; children, Lisa Brander; Lori (Roger) Hinton; Lynn (Brian) Rice; Paul Vincent; Rachel Vincent Valdez; Griffith Vincent; brothers, David (Charlotte) Dedman; Darrell (Brenda) Dedman; Daniel Dedman; grandchildren, Matthew (Summer) Brander; Andrew (Tianna) Brander; Drew (Ashley) Huft; Sarah (Emanuel) Gomez; Dara (Rick) Maltose; great-grandchildren, Bradley Brander; Riley Keith Maltos; Destiny Lynn Huft; aunt, Glenda Austin (Dale) Trumbo; uncles, John Austin and his wife; LeRoy (Carol) Austin and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, David Dedman; grandparents and a cousin, Tim Trumbo. Services for Dean will be held at Faith Assembly of God Church, 178 Filer Ave. West, with Pastor Paul Springer officiating at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2008 with visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road. Dean will be laid to rest at Twin Falls Cemetery following the church service with military rites. Arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls.
