Alice Faye Carson, age 83, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on May 28, 2023 of natural causes. Alice was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 12, 1940 to John and Opal McBride. She was raised in Twin Falls with a large close family with twelve siblings. Alice met and married Lyle D. Thorpe on August 6, 1958 and they had three children, Rose Arlene, Lynn, and Kim. She went on to marry Ivan E. Carson and later divorced. Alice loved spending time with her brothers and sisters. Family camping trips, picnics, and card nights kept her close to them throughout her life. She had a lifelong love of gardening, sewing, and being outdoors. Alice explored the mountains riding her motorcycle with her family and later took many trips across the country riding with family and friends. Alice was a loving and dedicated mother who spent many summers at the baseball field cheering her children on and during the school year at football games and dancing studios supporting their interests. She worked many jobs throughout her life, starting at a young age working at Birdy’s Chicken Farm and later as a carhop for Norm’s Cafe in the 50’s, later she enjoyed her position at Magic Valley Regional Hospital working in the kitchen and finished her working years by joining her sister-in-law, Rose, to work at Babble’s Cleaners before retiring. Alice was preceded in death by both her husbands - Lyle Thorpe and Ivan Carson; two of her children - Rose Arlene Thorpe and Lynn Carlyle Thorpe; her parents - John and Opal McBride; six of her siblings - Cecil Ray McBride, John McBride Jr., Esther Keyt, Laverne McBride, Charles McBride, Robert McBride and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughter - Kim Alisa Smith (Robert) of Twin Falls, Idaho; five grandchildren - Rachelle Lynn Baier (Robert) of Post Falls, Idaho, Christine Alicia Harr (John Muir) of Boise, Idaho, Brett Christopher Thorpe (Samantha Brown) of Boise, Idaho, Cody Emerson Smith (Nicole) of Twin Falls and Joshua Emerson Fredrick Smith (Jordan Scow) of Twin Falls; four great grandchildren - Hannah Rachelle Harr, Lincoln Wade Baier, Cassi Jo Baier, and Ryella Emreal Rhenh Smith; six siblings - Billy Hurst, Verle Waggoner (Gerald), Casey Scholer (Ray), Tip McBride, Jeanie Austin, and Sue Wills (Greg); and many nieces, nephews and their families. There will be graveside services at 1 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Twin Falls Cemetery located on 2350 4th Ave. East off of Eastland Dr., Twin Falls, Idaho. Everyone is welcome to a light luncheon following services at Parkes Funeral Home at 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, Idaho.
