Antonia Nava, age 77, of Hazelton Idaho, passed away at home surrounded by family. She was born January 27, 1944, to Miguel Chairez and Maria de Refugio Garcia in Sombrerete Zac, Mexico; the 6th of seven children. Her family lived in the village of El Astillero and later moved to Las Cruces where she and her siblings grew up. Antonia later met her future husband Blas Nava. Blas and Antonia married on October 20, 1962. They were blessed with 5 children: 4 daughters and 1 son. In 1972, with 4 young children Antonia traveled to the Unites States to join Blas who had set up a home in Cheyenne Wyoming. In 1978 the family moved to the Magic Valley where they continue to reside. Antonia loved singing church hymns and coros de alabanza. She was a faithful member of the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Jesus Christ; baptized in his name in 1982. She held many leadership positions within the women’s groups. She was an avid knitter and skilled in crochet. She enjoyed her house plants and flower garden. Antonia always greeted her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with a genuine smile and laughter. She was loving, patient, empathetic, and always provided her family with words of encouragement and wisdom. Antonia was preceded in death by two daughters, Gabriela (2002) and Ma. Reyes (2007.) She is survived by her husband Blas Nava, her daughter Rosalia Nava, son Jaime (Cirila) Nava, daughter Antonia (Gerardo) Simental, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID. The Funeral Service will be held at the Asamblea Apostolica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus, Apostolic Assembly Church, 312 W. 9th St., Burley, ID, Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11:00 A.M.
