Ardean Richard Lang, 80, of Twin Falls, passed away peacefully on January 12 at home. He was the second son of Herbert & Ida (Zelmer) Lang, born June 22, 1942, in Harvey, ND. Ardean and his family moved from Harvey, ND, to Filer, ID, after graduating from the 8th grade in 1956. Ardean graduated from Filer High School in 1960. He joined the Idaho National Guard in July 1960. On September 2, 1961, he married the love of his life, Janice Lautt. Ardean and Janice grew up together in Harvey, ND, where their families were close friends. Ardean and Janice were blessed with a daughter Jacqueline in 1962 and a son Richard in 1966. Ardean was a man of many trades. During his years at the Asgrow Seed Company, he also studied to become an electrician. After completing his electrical license, he worked at the Amalgamated Sugar Factory. Taking his training and knowledge to start his dream, Lang Electric and Excavation was founded. Ardean was the lead electrician for the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds for 15+ years. Ardean also excavated graves for the Filer Cemetery, pumped septic tanks, and welded for the community. Volunteer Fireman, Freemason, College Professor at College of Southern Idaho, Idaho National Guardsman, Electrical Instructor, City Councilman, and Vice President of the Idaho Gold Prospectors Club were all titles once held by Ardean. Ardean was a Square Dance Caller, hunter, fisherman, Kiwanis Club Member, and American Legionnaire, and he was generous with his time and knowledge. He is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, Jacqueline Wakefield of Sugar City, ID; son, Richard (Tammy) Lang Bellevue, ID; he has three grandchildren Dusty (Sarah) Wakefield; Rainbeau (Matthew) Decker; and Shane (Rashell) Wakefield. He also has seven great-grandchildren: Gunner, Hunter, Sadie, Madrox, Blaze, Jayden, Brenlee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Ida Lang, and two brothers, Herbert Lang Jr., and Darryl D Lang. A memorial service for Ardean will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2023, at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home and Crematory, with Pastor Jim Sommers officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
