Barbara (Bobbi) Ann Shaffer was called away from us way too soon. She passed away on Sunday January 17, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.
Bobbi was born on March 28, 1959 to Thomas and Maxine Johnson in Lebanon, Ohio. She graduated high school at Lebanon High School in 1977. After high school, Bobbi enlisted and joined the United States Army where she found the love of her life and soulmate Chuck Shaffer. They were married on August 30, 1985. In 1986, they moved to Idaho and to Hansen, Idaho in 1989 where they resided at her time of death. This is where they created a loving life and home for themselves and family.
Anyone who knew Bobbi knew how important and how much she loved and cherished time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going camping and fishing. She learned how to snowboard and had a passion for being on the mountain. She became a snowboard instructor and loved teaching people about her love for the sport. She had many mountains she enjoyed going to and especially going to Sun Valley with her husband and had recently been up there one more time. She was an amazing artist and writer. Bobbi had the honor of reenlisting into the Idaho Army National Guard in March of 2007. She was the Honor Guard coordinator and eventually deployed to Iraq in 2010 as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She made many lifelong friends while serving with the National Guard. In June of 2015, she officially retired from the Army after serving for 23 years.
Bobbi was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and friend. She was courageous, thoughtful, fearless, and motivated. She could make friends for life by walking into a crowd of strangers. She was loyal, trustworthy, and faithful. She was a beautiful person, woman, and soul inside and out. She was proud to serve in the military and always gave 110% in everything she did. She was a Hero to so many around her. She touched so many lives and shall never be forgotten. We will always love her Forever and A Day.
Bobbi is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Charles (Chuck) Shaffer. Her three children her son Tom Shaffer (Idaho), her son Matthew Davidson (Missouri), and her daughter Megan Johnson (Idaho). Her grandchildren Xander and Paxton Johnson.
