Betty Willhite Wagner, 98, of Twin Falls, ID, passed away peacefully of natural causes at St. Luke’s Hospital, Twin Falls on April 17, 2023. Betty was born on August 20, 1924, in Twin Falls to Jesse H. and Alice I. Willhite. During Betty’s younger years, she lived with her parents on her family’s farm in Murtaugh, ID. Betty graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1942 and later attended Business College. After WWII, Betty married E.J. (Wag) Wagner in 1951 and moved to Alexandria, Virginia during one of Wag’s tours of duty in the U.S. Navy, in Washington DC. She and Wag moved many times during their marriage to places like Spain, Rhode Island, Virginia, Florida, Texas, and California. She and Wag later divorced. Betty worked for the United States government in Civil Service. She started her career at Hunt Relocation Camp in Minidoka, ID, and continued her civil service career as a Foreign Service Officer and traveled around the world to places like Rabat, Morocco, Spain, and many other places around the world. She finished her career as a Housing Referral Officer at El Toro Marine Corps Base in California and retired in the 1980s. Betty is survived by her son Arnie (Gayla) Wagner, daughter Lisa (Denie) Mason; grandchildren, Chadd (Melanie) and Ryan (Jessica) Wagner; Brandon and Kurt Mason and granddaughter Cassie (Tieg) Radtke; great-grandchildren, Preston, Will, Jacoby and Dawson Wagner; Kaylyn, Reesa, Mya, Pozy Mason; Ryker and Rylie Radtke. Betty also has five bonus great-grandchildren, Chansee, Kaelee, Kaden, Kaleb, and Ryne. She was preceded in death by her parents, one great-grandson, Kruz Mason, and a longtime companion Charles D. Walter. Betty’s family would like to send out a sincere thank you to the doctors and nursing staff of St. Luke’s Magic Valley, for the care that she received while at the hospital and also a sincere thank you to Southern Idaho Ophthalmology for her long-term eye care. A viewing will be at 10:00 am, Funeral Service ~ at 11:00 am on April 26, 2023, at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID, and Interment at Twin Falls Cemetery.
