It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Byron Glenn McCurdy, who left us peacefully at the age of 67. A devoted husband, father, and friend, Byron was a man whose life was marked by love, resilience, and a commitment to family.
Born on Christmas Eve in Pocatello, Idaho, to goodly parents, Joey Doralee Hertzig and Frank Calvin McCurdy. Byron was raised with a strong sense of values — family, hard work, and integrity. From a young age, he embraced life with a quiet confidence and a passion for service including a 2 year church mission to Sapporo, Japan, and time lobbying as president of a national organization in his field (NAPEO). His free time was spent as a student of music, history, and baseball or a combination.
As a husband, Byron was deeply dedicated. He spent 22 years with his beloved wife, Wendy McCurdy. Their love was a partnership in the truest sense; a blending of families built on trust, respect, and mutual support. Byron cherished his role as a father and grandfather, providing an example of putting family first and will be remembered for demonstrating the value of perseverance, forgiveness, and charity.
We mourn his passing, but we also celebrate the life he lived — a life that was full of love, full of purpose, and full of meaning. His legacy will live on in the lives of his siblings Jim (Dianne), Brent (Julynn), Terry (Judy), and Jacalyn (Darnell), children (Tasha, Tyler, Brianne, Alex, Drew, Ashley, Kylee, Anna, Riley, Tanner, Emma), grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege to know him. He is preceded in death by brother Joelle, and Parents Frank, and Joey.
He may be gone from this world, but his spirit, his lessons, and his love will remain with us always.
A memorial service is planned for November 29, 2024 at 1pm 2085 S Temple Dr, Twin Falls, ID 83301.
