Byron E. Snyder of Twin Falls, ID, passed away October 15, 2022 at Grace Assisted Living Center at age 93 of congestive Heart Disease. He was born to MJ (Bud) and Mary Snyder in Hamlet, NE on March 8, 1929. In the spring of 1940, his parents moved him and his older sister Katie to Twin Falls, ID, where he resided until his death. He attended school and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1947. He went on to college at U of I and Idaho State College, graduating in Academics and Physical Education. He served in the Army as a bayonet instructor during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home, he went to work in construction and as a part time truck driver for Idaho Egg. He met and courted Glenda Standlee and they were married June 16, 1956. They were a great team and built a wonderful life together. They raised 4 children, Greg, Kym, Sandy and Kurt on an acreage west of Twin Falls. He was a devoted family man! Byron worked for Mountain Bell and US West for 30 years retiring in 1987. Upon retirement, he started his own business, B & G Design, engineering the placement of fiber optics in the western states. He had a lifelong love of horses and had horses on the acreage along with cattle, hogs and even a goat. He was an avid golfer, you would find him on the golf course 3-4 days a week, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, refereed high school football, sat on the school board and was a dedicated blood donor. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Glenda, his parents and sister. He is survived by his 4 children, Greg Snyder, Kym (Sherman) Russell, Sandy (Chris) Schmahl and Kurt (Irene) Snyder, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
