Capt. George C. Kinslow (USMC Retired) Capt. George C. Kinslow, USMC-Retired, of Twin Falls, Idaho, Age 91, passed away at home August 15, 2022. George was born November 13, 1930, in Cormwell, Oklahoma, to Rufus D. and Sarah Esther Williams Kinslow. He loved God, his country, the United States Marine Corps, his family, music, dancing, hunting, camping, fishing, working on cars in his shop and carpentry. George attended schools in Cormwell, Oklahoma, Richmond and Visalia, California. He then joined the Marine Corps in October 1948, with recruit training in San Diego, CA. He then went to Camp Pendleton for training to serve in the 4.5” Rocket Battalion. Throughout his career, he completed specialized training programs including Navel Gunfire Aerial Spotter, Aerial Observer & Photographer, Drill Instructor school, Recruiter school and many field artillery courses. George served his country for 23 years between 1948 and 1971 with trainings and deployments across the globe. He served a tour of duty in Korea, and two tours in Vietnam. He earned several commendation medals including, Bronze Star with “V”, Air Medals (6), Navy Achievement Medal with “V”, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. George was stationed at many duty stations. These stations included: -San Diego California -Camp Pendleton -Camp Lejeune -Parris Island -Lawton , Enid, and Muskogee Oklahoma -Okinawa Japan -Dallas Texas -Viet Nam -29 Palms, California After retirement from the USMC, he went into real estate in Modesto, CA. Later, he opened his own agency in 29 Palms, CA. He moved to Idaho in 1993. He was a lifetime member of both the Marine Corps League and Disabled Veterans of America and longstanding memberships with the Gem State Fiddlers and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents Rufus D. and Sarah E. Kinslow, brothers Alvin, Calvin, Odes and James, sisters Lethelma, Juanda and stepdaughter Carla Jean Anderson (Joe), great grandson Bellamy Anderson. George is survived by his wife, Carol Williams Kinslow, sister Rubene Merlet, daughters Lois Roxanne Hales (Charles), Sue Bois, Karen Smith (Mike), son George C. Kinslow II (Nicole), stepson Douglas Aguirre, son-in-law Joe Anderson. Grandchildren: Chris Bois (Katelynn), Rebecca Smith & Sarah Smith Klein (Jeremy), Garrett Myers, Corby, Kadydra, and Izaiah Kinslow, Kara Anderson Reno (Mike Smith), Jake & Josh Anderson (Cheyenne), Vickye Fullerton (Trevor). Great grandchildren: Skylar Reno, Cora Jean Smith, Hunter Smith, Trypp Fullerton, Briar Lyn Fullerton, Octavia Lafae Anderson, Avra Bois and several nieces and nephews, Nancy and Neil Hubert who have been so faithful to visit him and sister-in-law Gayle Bengoechea (Jose).
