Claudie Mae Durk went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 14, 2021 . She went to join Eldon in taking care of Heaven’s rose garden. Claudie was born in Texas, but moved to Idaho when she was 5. She lived in Twin Falls until she met and married Eldon. They lived and farmed in Hansen until farming took them to Bruneau and then to Emmett. She valued her family and stayed home to raise her children and help Eldon. They semi-retired and moved to Jerome, where she worked 10 years, for public health, until she retired. Claudie was a deeply committed Christian. She put the needs of everyone above herself and she was quick to say a prayer for anyone. She greatly valued the workers and people at the Jerome Bible Baptist Church. Many people in Jerome will remember Claudie when she went out early to walk. She tried to get 5-10 miles in every day. She found time to pick and deliver roses from the garden that she and Eldon tended. Over the years, she gave away hundreds of these bouquets. Claudie was preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband and infant son. She is survived by her son, Harold and wife Nancy and family Phil, Julia, Ellie and Maggie; daughter Cheryle and husband Dennis. The family wishes to express deep gratitude for the extraordinary care, given by the staff of Serenity Transitional Care, to Claudie in her last days. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Shriner’s Hospital or the charity of your choice. No public services are planned at this time.
