Connie Van Sickle

January 16, 1957 — August 20, 2021

Connie (Moyes) Van Sickle, 64, of Hazelton, ID, was called home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 20, 2021, in her home surrounded by loved ones after a year long battle with cancer.

Connie was born in Logan, UT on January 16, 1957. She was the third child and first born daughter to Charles Russell and Violet Faye Moyes.  Growing up with her siblings they enjoyed camping and road trips. Connie graduated from Bingham High School in South Jordan Utah.  While attending high school she participated in the drill team, swim team, and the varsity volleyball team.

Following graduation, Connie attended a church dance where she would meet the love of her life.  She was sealed for time and all eternity to Jack Ervid Van Sickle on October 7, 1977 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Connie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Some of her favorite callings were serving with the young women and in the nursery.  Connie had many artistic hobbies; she was an amazing baker, loved needlework and quilting, and being outside in her garden, but her favorite thing was raising her family.  Connie always wanted to be a mother. Not only did she raise six kids, but she was also considered a second mother to so many friends and members of the community. Connie was a teacher at Valley Middle School for 20 years where she was able to continue influencing and serving countless students and teachers.  She participated as a volleyball coach as well as applying for grants to help with the STEM program.

Connie had a smile that would light up a room and make you feel like you belonged and were loved.  She was an example to everyone she met and always made you feel important.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Ervid, her sons, Ryan Ervid (Andrea), Jared R (Kim), Eric Jack (Codi), Jason Robert (Amanda), and her daughters, Morgan Harley and Alexis Jordan. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 siblings.
