Crystal Wolters

July 28, 1939 — February 20, 2022

Crystal Arlene (Stewart) Wolters was born July 28, 1939 at home in Watertown, SD. She was the oldest of 3 girls. She was baptized August 17, 1939 in a home ceremony and confirmed May 24, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riverside, CA. Crystal grew up in Watertown, SD and Riverside, CA. She graduated in 1957 from Polytechnic High School. In 1960 she graduated from CA Hospital School of Nursing, Los Angeles, CA. She met Eldon Wolters who was serving at March Airforce Base near Riverside CA and they married on December 3, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Riverside, CA. The couple resided in Idaho finally settling in Twin Falls, where they raised their family of four. Crystal was a mother, homemaker, and active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Twin Falls, ID where she faithfully served in LLL, LWML, the prayer chain and so many other ministries. Crystal loved gardening, arts & crafts, sewing & quilting, and was completely committed to involvement in her children’s lives and activities. She instilled in her children a sense of responsibility, Godly character and a deep faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is remembered as a compassionate loving woman who went out of her way to care for those around her. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured her many close friends and faithfully covered them all in prayer. Through life’s journey this strong woman maintained her dignity and sense of humor. Later in life she served at Immanuel Lutheran School as the head cook and nutritionist of the hot lunch program for a fun and enjoyable 20 years. Crystal served on the Idaho School Food Service Association State Board for 10 years. During this time, she became an accomplished painter who won many awards. She loved traveling to visit her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, stepmother and faithful & loving husband Eldon (Eldie). She is survived by her dearly loved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kristy Carlson of Ripon, CA and her children Jacob (Saylor), Andrew (Josilyn), Karisa, Caleb (Mireya), Philip, and Kendra. Karen (Mark) Hummel of San Ramon, CA and her children Sam and Kristen. Korene (Even) Stevens of Carthage, TN and her son Luke. Kirklan (Amy) Wolters of Ione, OR and his children Beau and Blake. Survivors also include her sisters Cheryl Solomon of Bellflower, CA and Carolyn Lux of Tacoma, WA and many beloved nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Friday February 25, 2022 at 10 am at Trinity Lutheran Church Eden, ID, 1602 East 100 South. A service to celebrate her homecoming with the Lord will follow at 11:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church 2055 Filer Ave. E, Twin Falls, ID. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Immanuel Lutheran School. Donations can be handed to Dean Ruhter or left at the church or school office.
