Dallas Werner Ulrich, 80 of Jerome, passed away on March, 5, 2021. He was born May 1st, 1940 to Wilbur and Blondina Ulrich in Twin Falls. His family farmed and ranched in Twin Falls his entire life. He attended Immanuel Lutheran school until high school where he attended and graduated as a Twin Falls Bruin in 1958. Dallas went to the Navy immediately after graduation for 4 years. When he got out of the Navy, he landed in New Jersey where he bought a brand new Chevy Corvair and drove it all the way home. When he returned home, he started farming with his dad. He met Sandra Jarvis in 1963 and they were married July 17, 1964 and lived in Twin Falls where their first daughter, Shanna was born. Dallas moved the young family to Belgrade MT in 1967 and attempted being an Aid Association for Lutheran's life insurance salesman. They were living there when son Wade was born. Dallas realized farming was in his blood and moved the family back to Hansen Idaho in April of 1968 where their daughter Bonnie was born. The family moved a few more times but in 1976 they ended up moving to a farm in Castleford out beyond the Balanced Rock where he lived for 38 years. They adopted Kenny a few years after moving to Castleford. While the kids were growing, Dallas was a 4-H leader and taught hunter's education classes. He was a First Responder for the Castleford QRU, very active in Relay for Life for many years and an avid walker, winning many medals for his fast pace walk in fun runs. In 1990, Dallas semi-retired from the farm and sold most of the cattle and went to work for Simplot after a few years working with fertilizers he retired from Simplot in 2005. Dallas and Sandy moved to Jerome to finally slow down and retire in January of 2014. At that time Sandy had been diagnosed with cancer and passed away in April 2014. Dallas met Darlene shortly after Sandy's death and she has been the light that has kept him going these past years. Dallas has been a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church his entire life and has attended and called various churches in the valley his home church. Dallas was always a very active and supportive member of the Lutheran churches and Lutheran Camp Perkins. Dallas has experienced some challenging health issues the past 2 years. Dallas is survived by, daughter Shanna (Jeff) Breeding, son Wade Ulrich, daughter Bonnie (Wade) Rast and son Kenny Ulrich. He is also survived by his 8 lovely grandchildren, Megan Breeding and Samantha (Aaron) Gaide, Justin and Kendell Rast, Garrett Ulrich and Karisa, Kyler and Kirkland Ulrich, brother Myron Ulrich, and sisters Imogen Horner, Dorthy Koci, Peggy Ohlaug and Vicki Barnhil. He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Sandy, his parents and 1 brother – Dennis Ulrich. A Celebration of Dallas' Life will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church 2055 Filer Avenue East, Twin Falls with Pastor Roger Sedlmayr officiating. Private Inurnment for Dallas and Sandy will be held at a later date in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Twin Falls, Idaho.
