Danny O'Dell

Danny L O’Dell, 60, of Henderson, NV, passed away on February 13, 2024, suddenly at home. Danny was born in Jerome, Idaho to John Lee Bert O’Dell and Shirley Ann O’Dell on May 1, 1963.

Danny spent most of his young life moving from Idaho to California and back. In 1992, while living in California he joined the Structural Ironworkers Union Local 433. He was a proud member of the Ironworkers and enjoyed every minute of every job he worked. In 1997, Danny
met his soon-to-be wife, Carrie, and first son, Shawn. They married on April 6, 2002. Being an Ironworker was taxing on his body and in 2002 he decided to go back to school. Like everything he did, Danny put 100% into his schooling and graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in
Addiction Studies, then with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. As a counselor, Danny found his niche with adolescents, and touched many families lives. In 2012, much to Danny and Carrie’s surprise, they welcomed their youngest son, Aedan. Danny loved both his
boys and wanted to show them the life he had while growing up. At the end of 2012 Danny, with his family in tow, moved back to Idaho, first to Rupert then to Kimberly, where they lived until 2018. Even though Danny loved counseling, he was an Ironworker through and through. He
moved to Las Vegas, NV, where he found himself putting up the new Las Vegas Raiders stadium. In 2020, amidst Covid, Danny’s family followed, and they settled in Henderson, NV. In August of 2023 Danny finally retired from the Ironworkers and began planning the rest of his life as a dad and husband. 

Danny loved camping, fishing, and hunting, he loved board games, and his Harley. He loved his brothers of SBMC and his family dearly. He was a proud husband, dad, son, brother, and friend.

Danny is preceded in death by his mom, Shirley, his parental grandparents, his maternal grandparents, and his brother – in – law, Jerrel Jones.

Danny is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Carrie J O’Dell, Sons Shawn Cenk-O’Dell (27) and Aedan O’Dell (11), sister Becky A Jones, dad John Lee Bert O’Dell (Juanita), his 4-legged BFF, Asha, his dragon, Oscar, as well as countless friends and family.

Funeral services will be held grave side at Twin Falls Cemetery on April 6, 2024, at 1:00 pm, with Cousin Ross Miller officiating. A Celebration of Life luncheon will immediately follow at Wilks Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls, ID.
