Darleen M Knighton

Darleen (Murri) Knighton, 89, passed away peacefully, October 5, 2020 at Lincoln County Care Center with complications from Diabetes. Darleen was born March 15, 1931 in Rexburg, Idaho to John Henry Murri and Millie Jane Larson Murri. She was raised in Eastern Idaho and Southern Idaho until her marriage to Orville LeRoy Knighton on October 17, 1953 in her parents home in Twin Falls, Idaho. They soon moved to Pocatello for a few years where their daughter, Susan Louise Knighton was born. A few years later, they decided to move to Murtaugh, ID to start a new business. In the 80’s they moved back to Twin Falls where she lived until she was needing more specialized care, so she then went to Shoshone, ID where she and Susan have been residing. Darleen was well known for her fun-loving personality and desire to to bring joy to everyone in her circle. She loved crafting and painting and for years she was making home decor items, crocheting gifts, painting pictures and ceramics, sewing clothing for her daughter which led her to become an expert “dress designer” for all of Susan’s Barbie dolls. Darleen was an avid gardener and loved to can and preserve her harvest. She was a tender, dedicated care giver to her sweet daughter, Susan, and they have a very special bond which is an example to all. Dear to her heart has always been her many pets, especially her little dogs, her fish aquariums and a cat or two. This love was evident in the way each and every one was spoiled and treated as royalty in her home. Darleen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many positions over the years with two being especially dear to her heart, teaching Primary and teaching Genealogy classes. She has researched hundreds of family names on both sides of her family for many years. Darleen was preceded in death by her husband, Orville LeRoy Knighton, her sisters Melva (Bill) Workman, Verla (Clyde) Goodman, and her brother Farlin (Jacque) Murri. She is survived by her daughter Susan Louise Knighton. Visitation for Darleen will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 11:00-12:00 P.M. at the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Graveside Services and Interment will be held following services at the Twin Falls Cemetery where Darleen will be laid to rest next to Orville. All services and arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
