David John Davis, age 84, of Kimberly, Idaho, passed away on April 5th, 2022, due to heart complications while engaging in one his favorite activities, his daily 3 mile walk around Kimberly, Idaho. Dave was born in Canoga Park, California on August 20th, 1937, as the only child to John Chester Davis and Carmen Hanna Slujosky. Dave graduated from Canoga Park high school and later attended USC where earned a masters in recreation. Dave went on to become a lifelong student earning himself 7 more degrees from other universities around the country. David served in the United States Marines Corps. as a Lance Corporal until his honorable discharge. As a professional shot putter Dave was Olympic gold medalist. Dave was the founding owner of Olympic Painting company for 40 years until he retired in 2004. David spent most of his free time in service to the community. Providing countless selfless acts of generosity, Dave touched the lives of the many people he has met in his lifetime. He loved his church and the power Christ had in his life. He was also a sports connoisseur, as two of his favorite pastimes were to exercise and watch the basketball games with Betty. David was predeceased by his son David John Davis Jr. He is survived by his wife Betty, his grandson Trey, and his family, as well as a few stepchildren. A private funeral was held at Kimberly Christian Church in Kimberly, Idaho.
