Debbie Kay Heck, 61, of Twin Falls, went to rest in the arms of Jesus Christ April 4, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Spokane, Washington, on January 25, 1964, to Ralph William and Dollie Margaret Heck, the fifth child born of this union. There were eight of us little Heck kids running around, including David, Tim, Shelly, Kerry, Debbie, Rusty, Randy and Sarah. I might add: Never a dull moment with this bunch.
Debbie, also whimsically known as "Deb" and "Doober," was a beautiful soul with many attributes. She had a heart of gold. Deb always gave to others, putting herself last. She was truly a humble woman sent from heaven above. Deb lit up every room with her infectious smile and colorful personality, wild ideas and peace keeping council.
Deb was the adventurous sister, a free spirit always looking for the thrill of excitement. She loved the ocean and the dolphins who shared it with her. Deb enjoyed water skiing, snowboarding, and she was even a bungee jumper. She had no fear. Deb was also known to enjoy a good kegger party alongside a campfire in the mountains back in the day.
In her younger years, Deb lived in Alaska and worked on commercial fishing boats there, later moving on to Washington then California, then back to Idaho for the past 20+ years. Wherever she went, Deb was a tremendous animal lover. She always had a house full of her beloved babies i.e. dogs and cats. Deb would take in all the strays, raise them up and nurture them. She gave them all a safe and happy home.
Deb never married but she broke quite a few hearts! She loved her family most of all, always tending to and caring for the numerous nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grandnieces, whom she forever held so closely in her heart. Everyone loved Aunt Deb and Aunt Deb loved everyone MORE.
She loved to cook and was a “master” chef, always introducing new cuisines to the family. Deb hosted many great holiday dinners and summertime barbeques at her home, always going the extra mile for the littles. She filled a giant swimming pool every summer so she could enjoy them and they could stay cool and have fun.
Deb enjoyed going to yard sales, swap meets and shopping; always on the hunt for a good bargain or a prized piece. She was a connoisseur of sorts and a collector of many different things. Deb loved doing arts and crafts and used many of the heirloom jewelry pieces she’d find to create something or add beauty to something else. Her specialty was creating beautiful Christmas trees and Teddy bears on velvet backgrounds in a picture frame. We will cherish her personalized treasures forever.
Deb suffered many hardships throughout her lifetime, but always stood tall with her head held high. She was a special angel on this earth. Deb dealt with these trials and tribulations with dignity and grace. Reminding all of us, "You can’t keep a good woman down." That was our sister Deb.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Dollie, sister Rona June Jimenez, brother Tim Heck, sister Shelly Neibaur and little brother Rusty, whom she adored. Her gift to him was meeting him again on his birthday. We can only imagine the joyful reunion they all had in heaven.
She is survived by her brother David (Gertie) Heck of Buhl, Sister Kerry (Terry) Pratt of Las Vegas, Brother Randy Heck of Twin Falls and Baby Sister Sarah (Cliff) Heck-Towne of Twin Falls as well as her stepmom June T. Heck of Las Vegas, NV., and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, cousins and other family members that were all so very special to her.
We are all heart broken and feel tremendous sadness due to Deb’s sudden departure due to colon cancer. We find solace in knowing she is resting in the heavenly paradise with the family members who were there waiting to welcome her home with open arms.
A Celebration of Deb's Life will be scheduled at a later date.
Until we meet again, Godspeed Sister Deb.
