In the early morning of Tuesday January 16, 2024, Deborah Lynn Stuart, 70 passed away peacefully from a long battle with breast cancer in the comfort of her home.
A native Idahoan, Deb was born in Twin Falls on January 18, 1953, to John and Alda Baisch. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1971 and continued to live in Twin Falls throughout her life.
Deb met William (Bill) Stuart in 1974 where she worked at the Turf Club in Twin Falls. They were married in a small courthouse in Elko, Nevada witnessed by their two best friends. Bill and Deb continued to live in Twin Falls where they raised two daughters, Amie and Amanda.
Deb loved her church family and was a strong member of St. Edwards Catholic Church throughout her entire life, where in her early years she volunteered in many church activities and was a teacher for CCD.
Deb had a special love for education. She worked at the College of Southern Idaho for over 26 years. She was committed throughout her career helping tutor and mentor students. In the 90’s she tutored the players of the CSI baseball and basketball teams in math. She continued to work at CSI in the school library, where she later retired in 2016.
Throughout her years, Deb would be the first to volunteer to help in her daughter’s classrooms and coach softball during their elementary years. She loved to spend her summers growing up in her family’s cabin in Sun Valley, and she loved to travel to the ocean. Her favorite places to visit was Manzanita, Oregon and Maui, Hawaii.
Deb was known to have a strong love for reading, crafting, doing puzzles, watching football and baking. She was famous for her “secret recipe” chocolate chip cookies and recreating her mother’s beloved biscotti recipe. She always had a strong interest in her family history and Italian roots. She also always loved being silly with her granddaughters.
Deb will be lovingly remembered and is survived by her devoted husband of almost 50 years, Bill Stuart, her children, Amie (Rory) Anderton and Amanda Stuart (Aaron Webb) and her two granddaughters Maya and Ella Anderton who brought her so much joy.
A great amount of gratitude from Bill, Amie and Amanda is extended to all her friends and family that supported Deb throughout her cancer diagnosis. So much thanks and love to all the hospice caregivers, nurses and CNA’s that assisted with her care.
