Dianna E. Galvan

July 21, 1953 — June 13, 2021

Dianna Elaine Galvan was born in Dayton, Ohio to Willard Frederick Perry Sr and Ella Lena Evans on July 21, 1953. She was the third of nine children born. First being Phillip (Patricia), Patricia, followed by Carolyn Leon (Hector), John (Linda), Paul (Laverne), Peggy Newlan (Kenneth), Randy (Edna), Willard Jr. (Patricia) and Deborah Corbett (Dave). Growing up in a military family, Dianna was well traveled. One of her fondest memories of her childhood was when her family was stationed in Germany. Dianna could count in German forever. When Dianna was 16 years of age she decided to move away from home and join the carnival. Dianna met quite a few interesting individuals while working for the carnival. Later in life her dearest friend and her would joke about how the movie Joe Dirt brought back memories of the carnival. During that time, Dianna met the Hell’s Angels and even dated one. If anyone knew Dianna, they knew how she loved to boast about that and her wild days. Dianna visited her family off and on. When she visited them in Idaho, she fell in love with the people and decided to stay. Dianna was one of the first certified nursing assistance at the Herald’s Nursing home of Buhl where she took care of many residences. She loved working as a CNA and quite fondly spoke of her residence later. While living with her best friend, Pat, in Castleford, Dianna met the love of her life. She always commented on how when she first met Gabriel Galvan, she thought he had the most beautiful eyes and the longest lashes. The couple dated a mere 3 months before getting married November 8, 1978. Once Dianna married, all her wild days were stopped, and she devoted her life to being a wife. Gabriel always had a nice meal on the table like her famous burritos that were so full they would barely close, a cold beverage in the fridge and a warm heart to come home to. Diane loved to spend time with Gabriel whether it was on a trip to Mexico or just going for a ride around the farm. Diane and Gabriel enjoyed playing card games at her sister Peggy’s or take a trip down to Jackpot. Dianna loved Gabriel with her whole heart and continued to love him even after their divorce in 2004. Despite their divorce, Gabriel and Dianna remained the best of friends. Gabriel and Dianna thought that becoming parents was something that they would never experience. After a year and a half of marriage, the two had not yet conceived. On a trip to Mexico, they found that they were going to be parents. The couple was so excited. On September 26, 1980 Aurelia Faye Galvan was born at the Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls. Diane was very disappointed because she wanted a boy for Gabriel. That disappointment quickly dissolved and turned into the deepest love. Diane and Aurelia were inseparable. As much as she was a devoted wife, she was a devoted mother. There were times when Diane would take Aurelia out of school for lunch or just to make it a mommy/daughter date. She loved Aurelia with all her heart. They loved making Christmas candy together and would often be heard singing a tune together. Not only was Aurelia her daughter, she was also her best friend. March 17, 2015 Aurelia married Glen Thorne and made Dianna a mother-in-law and a grandmother. Glen and Dianna had a very unique relationship. She enjoyed his humor and always would brighten up when he would peek his head into her room to say hello or see how she was doing. Glen would often make a cocktail and would ask Diane if she wanted one as well. He never was told no. Diane always felt safe when Glen was home and would always ask where he was when he was gone at work. She was always disappointed when she found out he was not home. Quinn and Brayden gave Dianna a love that only grandchildren can give. She loved them very much. Brayden would go into her room and visit a little and talk about his day. One thing that made Diane such a great sport is that she would drink whatever weird beverage Brayden would be trying that week whether it was Ranch dressing soda or pickle juice soda, she was always a willing participant. Quinn would just go in and sit on the rocking chair and watch movies with her or just talk about their day. She was so proud of her grandsons. She was so talented. She could make anything but one thing that many people knew about Diane was that she could crochet anything and made the most amazing dolls. One year she was brave enough to place one of her dolls into the Twin Falls County Fair and won first place. She was so excited about that and Aurelia was so proud of her. Diane had a morning ritual, she would watch Maury Povich and her favorite, Steve Wilkos. There was something about those two shows that just made her day. On Saturdays she would spend the day as her sabbath and would watch Jimmy Swaggart and read her bible. To keep her company while Glen and Aurelia were away for work, Diane would enjoy her time spent with her caregivers from Visions Home Health. She loved visiting with Cyndi Tyree and Kelli Jo Solosabal and treated them as if they were family. Diane loved her family very much. She enjoyed her time with her siblings. Diane enjoyed playing card games and having BBQ’s with Kenny and Peggy, going to Jackpot with Bill and Pat, making dolls and visiting with Carolyn and Hector, chatting on the phone with her brothers Phil, Paul and sister Deb. Diane enjoyed her weekly visits from her brother John up until he moved back to Utah. As her health began to deteriorate, she had a difficult time staying in contact. Diane was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. We will remember her laughter, generous heart and her warmth. Dianna is preceded in death by her grandparents John and Alma Mounts, father Willard Perry, mother Ella Lena Evans, stepfather Lee Evans, stepmother Louise Perry, beloved sister Carolyn Leon, loving brother Paul and sister Patricia. Please come and celebrate Diane’s life on Thursday June 17, 2021 at 2 PM at Parke’s Funeral Home. Following her celebration, join the family at Balance Rock Canyon, where Diane’s ashes will be scattered. Friends and family are welcome to pay homage to Dianna in anyway that they would like.
