Douglas “Doug” Woodson Lancaster passed on July 16, 2022, at his home in Twin Falls, Idaho. Doug was born June 28, 1942, to Sadie and James Lancaster in Twin Falls, Idaho. Doug, the youngest of three children, grew up on a farm in Filer, Idaho, where he attended school and graduated from Filer High School in 1961; in 2021 celebrated his 60-year reunion. In 1964, Doug dedicated his life to our country and joined the US Army. He was discharged to the US Army reserves in 1965 upon the passing of his father and moved back home to Filer to help with the family farm. He was honorably discharged from service in 1974. In 1973, Doug married the love of his life, a feisty Italian from Montana, Delores “Dee” Stringari, in Jackpot, NV. The two moved to Kennewick, Washington, where Doug worked as a Field Manager for the Badger Mountain Irrigation District. Doug and Dee moved to Phoenix, AZ, briefly and returned home to Twin Falls in 1993. Doug began his career at the City of Twin Falls Water Department upon moving back to Twin Falls and retired after 15 years. He made life-long friends at the Water Department. Doug enjoyed many hobbies and routines. He loved creating wood crafts for Dee to paint and making his weekly stops with his buddies at Scooter’s, Norms Café, and the Peking, to name a few. All who knew him loved him as their own. Doug was a faithful member of the Twin Falls Reformed Church. Doug adopted Dee’s children as his own. He was an incredible father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He enjoyed attending baseball and soccer games, rodeos, and band concerts and was not afraid to brag about his family and their accomplishments. Doug is survived by his four children, Gordon (Darlene) Sirrine, of Belfry, Montana; Rhonda Metzger of Bothell, Washington; Annette (Skip) McFarlin, of Twin Falls, Idaho; and Jeff (Kori) Sirrine of Olympia, Washington; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; brother James “Jimmy” Lancaster of Mesa, Washington; sister Deloris “Dee” Mills, of Filer, Idaho; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
