Eleanor (Ellie) Marie Leonard was born August 3, 1937, to Leo and Mary Anderson in Twin Falls, Idaho. She passed from this life on September 17, 2023. Ellie grew up in Twin Falls. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1955. She married Richard (Dick) Carter. Together they had two children, Craig and Cathy. Ellie was a stay-at-home mom while her children were being raised. She later worked as a secretary at several places, including First Federal Savings and Loan and Allstate Insurance, both in Twin Falls. In 1981, Ellie married the love of her life, Ken Leonard. They had a wonderful life together. Ellie was active in golf, tennis, pickleball and swimming. She enjoyed walking daily with friends as well as getting together and playing pinochle. She was also an avid reader. Ken and Ellie were able to enjoy spending winters in Surprise, Arizona. Ellie learned to paint there and became a talented artist. Through the years, Ellie and Ken were also fortunate to have been able to travel near and far. Most of their travels were in the U.S., but they also went to Europe several times. Ellie will always be remembered as a kind, loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be loved and missed forever. Ellie leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Ken, her children, Cathy Smith (Chuck), Craig Carter, stepsons Craig and Tim Leonard (Monica) and grandchildren, Jordan, Erica, Nathan and Hayley as well as two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and both of her sisters, Mary and Leah. As per Ellie’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice in Ellie’s name. The family would like to thank Hospice and Chardonnay Assisted Living for their loving care.
