Elizabeth Marilyn (Shotwell) Cristobal Elizabeth Marilyn Cristobal passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, November 29, 2022 in Hagerman, Idaho. She was 81. Elizabeth was born in Albany, California on March 4, 1941 to Ralph Eli and Evelyn Mae Shotwell. After graduating high school in 1959 from Excelsior High School, Norwalk, California, she married Edmund K. Rybold in 1960. During her marriage, she was employed with various industries and in positions relating to business as an executive assistant or as an office manager. After her first marriage ended, she followed her parents and relocated to Buhl, Idaho with her two children. She lived and was employed in Buhl for a few years. Her restless nature sent her to Stanley, Idaho; Jackpot, Nevada; and Mountain Home, Idaho. While in Jackpot, Nevada, she met Richard Cristobal, and subsequently, married him in 1990. Eventually in 1996, she returned to Hagerman with Richard where she was employed with Caribou Construction and assisted in caring for her mother, Evelyn. When returning to Hagerman, Elizabeth experienced a resurgence in her love for art. She drew, painted and created a number of craft items to include a variety of stain glass ornaments, bird houses, and decorative household items. She began collecting duck figurines. She loved her ducks. A brief battle with cancer forced her retirement in 2002. Fortunately, she was successful in defeating the disease without a reoccurrence over the past twenty years. Her bout with cancer did not deter her from her art and continued to create a number of pieces over the years. After Richard’s passing in 2008, her motivation to continue creating more work subsided. By 2014, she relocated to Fallon, Nevada with her son until 2021 where she periodically completed a few projects at her own pace. Idaho called to her again. She returned to be close to her daughter in Caldwell. In September 2022, she returned to Hagerman until her passing. She survived by her two sisters, Patricia Winther (brother-in-law Michael) of Hagerman; Katherine Williams (brother-in-law David) of Twin Falls: her son, Edmund K. Rybold, Jr., temporarily in San Diego, California; and daughter, Deborah Eve (Rybold) Leonard of Caldwell. Elizabeth has three grandchildren: Andrew William Rybold, Erin Paige (Rybold) Kueffler, and Mason Jerald Leonard. She has several nieces and nephews in the Magic Valley area. A celebration of life is planned for Elizabeth on Saturday, 12/17/2022, 11:00am at Amazing Grace Fellowship. 1061 Eastland Drive N., Twin Falls, Idaho. Reception to follow.
